Day at the Beach

Friday we all took off for the beach. Thursday had been a hot day at the zoo (80's) and half way into our drive to the ocean it started to rain. Oh well. Once we got there, we bundled up and figured a way to rig our 2 cars together. The boys made sand castles and Cooper flew his kite. We made hot dogs on the Coleman stove. Walked a little on the beach. Maybe it wasn't what we originally had in mind but we had the best time.

The towel and rear trunks worked great to create a little dry spot in between the 2 cars. Now we have a spot to be dry and eat our roasted hot dogs.

Zoo with the Nephews

So Jeremy, Angie and the boys are here for the weekend and today we went to Woodland Park Zoo. The boys have never been to a zoo before. We had some exciting experiences. Missed some lemur's fighting but heard them right after we left their area. As soon as we heard the loud noises, we rushed back... but not in time to see the action. Sawyer was the funniest. He was like "That was dumb". When we asked what was dumb. He said "The noises they were making". Then we also had a real experience at the gorillas when the old one began eating his... well, it would be too gross to say.
Fun times!

23 Weeks

Huge difference, right? I think right between 20-21 weeks, she decided to pop out. Yes, I officially have a baby bump now. Two weeks ago, I couldn't fit into my clothes anymore so was in a scramble for maternity clothes. Pretty fun. My mom and Mandie helped me find some things. Now there have been 3 girls from church who have let me go through their maternity clothes too.
She is moving around so much these days. I love it and quite entertaining. I think that is my favorite part - feeling her move and poking her back to see if she will move again. I can feel the difference between a complete roll over or just a kick too.
It is 4 months to go now. Just bought a jogging stroller on Craig's list and a black crib from Walmart. We get to pick that up this weekend. Next month, I am going to start working on the nursery. Can't wait!

20 Week Ultrasound

It took me awhile to get all these posted but here are some photos of our 20 week ultrasound. These were taken about 3 weeks ago. At the time, she was measuring at 11 inches long and 13 oz. The doctor was able to do a few 3D shots. Very cool but weird looking all at the same time. This first one is amazing how clear it is.

This one is kind of blurry. Kind of scary too because she looks all bumpy.

Profile shot - look at her puckered lips... so cute

OK,so am I not right in thinking that her puckered lips look just like her daddy's!!!

19 Weeks and First Felt Movements

Well, I forgot to take pictures the last few weeks. Yesterday was 19 weeks and I felt her move for the first time last night!!! Hien and I were watching a documentary on the art of playing classical music on the piano. I was lying on the couch (Hien rubbing my feet which is getting to be an every night treat - I can't believe I am turning into my mother...) and I started feeling something that I didn't think was just my digestion. The more I waited, the more I felt and realized, this is her! Later on as I was in bed she was really starting to move again. So much so that my stomach would move and I could see it. I had Hien come feel it and he felt her twice. Since we think she must like classical music, we brought in our Ipod to our bedroom and listened to that for awhile before going to bed. Super exciting evening!
