13 Weeks
This is a couple days shy of 13 weeks. Of course this isn't a picture of our baby but of one that is 13 weeks old. Right now, the baby is about 3 inches long and the size of a peach. The head is half the size of the body. The biggest development changes going on are that the intestines are moving from inside a cavity of the unbilical cord to the baby's abdomen (I didn't even know that the intestines were formed in the umbilical cord!!??) And also the vocal cords are forming.
We heard the hearbeat for the first time on Wednesday!! What an amazing sound. It was like I could really picture a baby inside there. I think it made it more real for Hien and I. Ali, our midwife, moved the doppler to where I could hear my heartbeat and then the baby's which was at least 2x faster than mine. Amazing!

11 and a half weeks pregnant
Thursday will be 12 weeks and the first trimester is over. This picture was taken yesterday. You can see the baby bump beginnings. It is amazing that at 11 weeks the baby is almost fully formed now. All of the fingers and toes, major organs, the brain, all the facial features. Tiny tooth buds are beginning and the bones are beginning to harden. It is starting to move and kick too although I can't feel it yet. In two days we hear the baby's heart beat for the first time!

I found this on Craig's List last week. Graco Quattro Tour Stroller. Only 2 years old. Sixty five dollars. Craig's list is bomb!
